We are looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team in North Bergen, New Jersey, on a Contract basis. This position focuses on supporting daily payment operations by reviewing invoices, maintaining accurate records, and helping ensure vendors are paid correctly and on time. The ideal candidate is organized, dependable, and comfortable handling high-volume financial transactions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
• Review incoming invoices for accuracy, completeness, and proper approval before processing payment.
• Assign the correct accounting codes to invoices and enter payment details into the appropriate records.
• Prepare and support routine check runs to ensure timely and accurate disbursement to vendors.
• Maintain organized accounts payable documentation and update records to reflect current payment activity.
• Investigate invoice discrepancies and work with internal teams or vendors to resolve issues efficiently.
• Monitor payment schedules and help ensure obligations are met in accordance with company timelines.• Experience performing accounts payable duties in a business environment with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to code invoices accurately and process a high volume of transactions with strong attention to detail.
• Familiarity with check runs and standard payment procedures.
• Working knowledge of invoice processing practices and accounts payable documentation.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadlines and maintain accurate records.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with vendors and internal stakeholders.
