Gilbane is seeking a Construction Accountant that is a mid-level professional capable of fulfilling the project accounting and project financial forecasting requirements of small to mid-sized jobs, including day-to-day interface with project management, client and subcontractor personnel. This role will sit primarily in the office, but travel to the project job sites meeting with the project teams and subcontractors. Who are we? ResponsibilitiesProvides accounting support for project management teamsPrepare and process owner pay applications and related billing documentationReviews Work in Process (WIP) on assigned projects and thoroughly understands and explains variances and balancesEnsures overall compliance with accounting policies and proceduresSupport a Senior Project Accountant in managing project-level financial reporting and documentationProcess and track accounts payable and receivables, ensuring timely payments and collectionsPrepare, submit, and monitor vendor payments in coordination with project teams and clientsManges contracts, amendments, insurance, bonds, SOV, Files, and Co PoliciesConduct timely and accurate review of requisitions and lien waiversDevelop and maintain positive professional relationships both internally & externallyTake ownership of assigned tasks and contribute to ad hoc financial activities as neededQualificationsEXPERIENCE/EDUCATIONBS degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field5+ years with CM or General Contractor organizationOr equivalent combination of education and experienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficient in Microsoft Excel and WordProficient in CMiC - PreferredUnderstanding of the overall project execution process, including budgeting, project forecasting, cost control, schedule, anticipated cost and project profitability familiarity with the GIG processFamiliarity with construction and pricing componentsFamiliarity with construction industry insurance productsAbility to communicate effectively, listens to understand, and can clearly convey information in all forms based on the audience to ensure shared meaning of the messageActs inclusively by ensuring that actions and behaviors are respectful; shows empathy and treats others with dignity; leverages capabilities and insights of individuals with diverse perspectives, abilities and motivationAbility to solve problems by identifying, prioritizing, and implementing alternatives for a solutionDemonstrates agility and adaptability by maintaining effectiveness and adjusting to change by exploring the rationale, trying new approaches, and collaborating with others to make the change successfulAbility to identify opportunities for new and improved ways of doing things that result in value added, unique and differentiated solutionsGilbane offers an excellent total compensation package which includes competitive health and welfare benefits and a generous profit-sharing/401k plan.
